New warning on 'perfect vaginas'

FOUND FROM HERE
surgery
Labioplasty involves cutting excess tissue that protrudes from the vagina

Women are undergoing surgery to create perfect genitalia amid a "shocking" lack of information on the potential risks of the procedure, a report says.

Research published in the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology also questions the very notion of aesthetically pleasing genitals.

Operations to improve the appearance of the sex organs for both psychological and physical reasons are on the rise.

But surgeons said the report overplayed the risks of an established procedure.

I need some help because nothing like this has ever happened to me before. I seem to have what I think is an ingrown hair down there. I've gotten ingrowns before but nothing that has turned this large so I don't really know what's going on. I don't think it is a cysts because it is not on my labia. It's located a few centimeters down from my labia (going towards the anus) and to the right (almost by the crease of my butt). I would say it's almost on the panty line. it's a fairly big bump, slightly smaller than pea size and is red with a sort of white filling and tip. It's kind of in a tough spot to see so I don't really know what's going on down there. I have been doing hot compresses for the past two days and yesterday I gave in and tried poking it with a sanitized needle, but I don't believe it penetrated it or nothing came out. So, now I don't know what to do about it because it's fairly painful and I've been taking Ibuprofen and put Neosporin and covered it with a bandaid so it's not directly touching my panties.

I saw a post from September and I believe people suggested doing something with a beer bottle and hot water. I'm ready to try anything but I'm afraid of getting it infected because I do not have health insurance and I am not certain if Planned Parenthood deals with these types of things. I don't even have time to go - I'm working 6 days this week. So, any suggestions? Any help is appreciated.

Implanon weirdness?

Posted by [info]princess_six in [info]vaginapagina on 2009.11.12 at 02:14
Hi guys.

Ok, my question is this: I have had the implanon for around a year now (28th of August was when it was inserted last year) and my periods have been wacko ever since. I bled for a good 6 months when I first had it put in (as in, very light bleeding for 3 weeks, heavy normal period of 1) and they weren't very regular patches of bleeding either. Anyway, then it sorted itself out and I got my (relatively) predictable cycle back which lasted 8-12 days but was quite light for all the days except the first two. Since September, however, I have not had a period. Obviously being on birth control I am sexually active, and I panicked and took 4 pregnancy tests. 2 1 week after the missed period (1 came up negative, and one didn't work properly...I guess it was a shitty cheap one from China?) and 2 about a week ago (1 came up negative, the other one...idk what happened, apparently it means its defective, but the test area didn't show a line but the whole other part of it turned pink (no line, just solid colour)). So yeah, I'm going with 2 negative pregnancy tests. I'm planning on taking another one because I really don't want to be pregnant, but is it possible that I could HEALTHILY be missing my periods because of implanon? This late into having it inserted? Being pregnant would be the worst luck ever, he pulled out and I have this thing which is 99% effective.

I should mention I've recently moved to China (for stress factor), am recovering EDNOS (though that has not affected my period before), and am suffering a very bad bout of depression atm...so any good news will be well-recieved. I just want to know if you guys think I should go to the doctors (because doctors in China are GHETTO and I don't really want to try and explain this all in Chinese...-_-;;) or if its possible this would happen with the implanon and I'm going to be fiiine lol...
Thanks :)

Finally, a day off from oatmeal.

Hello! I looked through the user info links and tried a journal search and didn't find anything, so here's hoping my journal search-fu isn't failing. I searched 'stitch computer program' 'stitch computer software' 'cross stitch computer' and the names of a few programs I'm thinking of buying, and it found nothing for any of them.

I'm currently making my own cross stitch patterns via photoshop, but it's rather time-consuming to make a really useable pattern. I've been looking into a good automatic cross stitch pattern making program. Unfortunately, most of the ones I find the free trial download either flat out doesn't work, or when I get it, it's not particularly good. I've noticed a real problem translating black in most programs I've tried- they try to make it dark green, or dark blue, so if you've already got that color in your image you can't tell what is supposed to be black and what isn't. Or else they make it far too pixelly, and there's no way you could tell what the original image was supposed to be.

So I'd like to know what people are using, how happy they are with it, and what some of the shortcomings are. I'm hoping not to spend more than 60, unless the best-best-everyone-loves program is more than that. I don't do machine embroidery, so I don't need a program that is capable of converting to machine embroidery patterns.

I've running on 32bit Windows Vista, but I'm upgrading to Windows 7 relatively soon. I'm finding most cross stitch making programs were last updated for XP, and then abandoned by their creators.

Thanks! I'm going to cross-post this to [info]stitchers as well.

BV and UTI at the same time??

Hi, everybody.

So I think I'm fortunate enough to get both BV and UTI at the same time because my vagina loves me.  I've had plenty of recurring UTIs and BV once before.   I'm currently studying abroad in Taiwan, so before I left the States, my doctor helped me out by prescribing me Nitrofurantoin (for UTI) and Clindamycin (for BV) in case I get those infections while I'm out of the country.

Well, yesterday, throughout the day, I felt a strong urgency to pee with just a few drops of urine each time.  I took my cranberry supplements (I know it's to prevent the UTI, not cure, but I took them anyways hoping they would help) and drank lots of water.  By night time, it felt like it cleared up.  This morning, I decided to start taking the Nitrofurantoin, even though I didn't feel any UTI symptoms throughout the morning.  This afternoon, I noticed the BV symptoms, a fishy odor.  It's not very strong, but stronger than normal.  Later on, I noticed white discharge.  I assumed that maybe I didn't have a UTI after all.. maybe it's BV instead.  So during dinner, I took one Clindamycin.  Two hours after taking it, the UTI symptoms are back and I can't stop running to the bathroom.

My current symptoms are:  frequent urination, but not much comes out (it doesn't burn, but my urethra is definitely irritated and tingly), fishy odor, slight discharge, and neon yellow urine (that may be caused by the meds).  I used one of those AZO UTI test strips, and I definitely have white blood cells in my urine, and it seems like negative nitrite.  I took one nitrofurantoin this morning, and one clindamycin this evening.  I know... I'm stupid for taking two different antibiotics at the same time.  I wasn't thinking straight.  Just wondering if I can get a UTI and BV at the same time? and should I keep taking the antibiotics?  More importantly, which antibiotic should I take?

If this doesn't clear up in another day or two, I'll probably go to a nearby hospital/clinic.  I'm just worried about the language barrier.

Thanks in advance!!

hey all,

update on my last question for those who helped me out with advice and reassurance - I've had to reschedule my pap test but I'm no longer freaked out about it so is all good! thanks for the support gals!

also, I was wandering the internet and I came across this - Not sure if its already been posted, but I thought I'd share as I remember reading it and thinking it was a very honest and body-positive article on the realities of genital shapes and sizes.

plus, I think the author is awesome!

Has anyone else seen Constantine on Broadway in Rock of Ages? I went last week. The show itself is laden with problems but I thought he does a pretty good job. His voice sounds stellar. Any other opinions?

You may remember my previous post. There is a dog staying at my house, who's owner broke up with her boyfriend, moved out, and left her min-pin/chihuahua mix here locked in the garage. She's supposed to be finding her a new home, but I never even see her around the house. I'm fed up with the situation and I'm taking things into my own hands. This poor dog has been abandoned for months, only being let out of the garage to go pee, and I'm not putting up with it anymore.

She's a very sweet dog, she's lived with other dogs, she's just a little skittish and shy. Her favorite thing is to squeeze between your back and the couch cushions and hide, and she also likes to play fetch.
She's about a year and a half old, and had all of her shots when she was younger, at a Petco. I do NOT have these records available.

Any interested parties, please email me at kumori(dot)kaze(at)gmail(dot)com and I will arrange a time for you to come see her.

Please pass the word and help me find this sweet dog a home.

I wish I could get a better picture, but she can't hold still without wiggling her head around...

Unemployed and going to school...

Posted by [info]momasarah in [info]damnportlanders on 2009.11.11 at 00:40
How many of you are on unemployment and going to school. Did you go thru the Training Unemployment department? Wasn't there something Obama signed to make it so we can now go to school and be on unemployment at the same time? My google searching isn't helping to much tonight.
